This article will give you a very decent understanding of how generalists operate and the remuneration structure. You are asking for a top MBA program. Take charge of building a comprehensive understanding. If you are not able to open it, let us know and we will send you a PDF copy.
I wanted to share this link with you and empower you with a great understanding of General Management and how it can help you shape up your career. In my experiences, you have a very different point of view. You need to strongly understand the distinction between a specialist and a general manager.
Example of a Specialist: Investment Banker, or a Corporate Finance Professional or a Brand Manager or even a procurement guy working with a supply chain.
Example of a General Manager: Someone responsible for playing the entire orchestra and managing the P&L. Someone who not only is accountable for the costs, but will also take charge of revenue, and will be well equipped with leading large multi-cultural teams.
Read my interview with Bob Bruner, Dean of the Darden School of Business, and I have asked very specific questions on General Management.
When you create your MBA Goals, you need to be aware of what you are creating for future.
