HEC Paris Application Deadlines 2021

Unlike other business schools, HEC Paris follows a rolling deadline pattern to evaluate MBA applicants. This means MBA applicants can send in their

applications to the school throughout the year and get an admissions decision without having to wait for a pre-set date.
Once an MBA applicant submits their application on HEC Paris’ online portal, the admissions committee reaches back to them with a decision within the next five weeks.

This flexibility allows MBA applicants to apply right after the application for an intake closes, and get considered for the upcoming intake, instead of waiting a whole year.

What does the HEC Paris admissions committee look for?

Know HEC’s past and present

HEC’s past and present here does not mean the business school’s rich history. The past refers to the HEC alumni and the present is the faculty, guest speakers, and the courses and events at the school.

Learning about the current HEC programs that rank highly alongside its MBA program can be really helpful while writing your MBA essays. The HEC Grande Ecole program is one of the top-rated Grand Ecole programs in France. The professors who teach at the HEC Grande Ecole also teach various courses in the MBA program at the school.

The ranking of the Grande Ecole program also draws many top recruiters and guest speakers to the business school.

Researching more such programs at HEC, which are accessible to the MBA students, can give you an edge while answering your essays. It will help you clarify the position of HEC in your MBA journey.

HEC also has a large alumni network with notable names like Apple Vice President Pascal Cagni, Sodexo Chairman Pierre Bellon, French Secretary of State of the Economy Benjamin Griveaux and many more. While writing your career goals essay, mentioning any HEC Alumni currently working in your desired field of work could come in really handy.

Why HEC?

As mentioned in the point before, you want to clarify the role that the HEC community will play in your career progression and goals. The admissions committee might understand why you want to pursue an MBA but will need more conviction about why you NEED an MBA from HEC.

The only way to convince them is to connect your future with HEC’s present. When we talk about your future, we don’t simply talk about the next 10 years. You will be an HEC MBA for the rest of your life. When you share your passion with HEC, make sure you share an aspect of the school that helps you improve it.

If you wish to make technological leaps in your chosen industry, mention how HEC Paris being a strong technological school will help you. point out to the various courses or events at the school that will strengthen your network or hone your skills to better incorporate technology with your chosen industry.

Think Global

The HEC Paris MBA, according to the school’s website, helps “develop a skill set that truly differentiates you in the global marketplace.”

Pay attention to the word global in this statement. The school’s vision is to create global leadership. Unless your vision matches the school in value, you won’t get the most out of an HEC MBA.

Whether it’s your vision for the future or your mindset, try to show a global view of point. Having international exposure of any sort would also play heavily in your favour when it comes to HEC.
