What does the Emory admissions committee look for?

Global and Entrepreneurial mindset

Amongst the core values of the Emory MBA program are a global and entrepreneurial mindset. An applicant must portray both these qualities to show their fit with Emory.

Entrepreneurs aren’t created in an MBA classroom. Thus showing an entrepreneurial mindset through your MBA profile, and then explaining how Emory’s focus on entrepreneurship can help your inner entrepreneur flourish.

Emory also focuses on a global perspective throughout their MBA program. The idea is to create leaders of the world. Emory alumni are expected to create impact across countries, industries, and functions.

Thus, sharing any international exposure, and your learnings from the same can be really beneficial to your chances at cracking Emory.

Collaborative mindset

A school with small class size, Kelley believes in collaboration rather than competition.

The school’s admissions committee talks about how a collaborative mindset is one of the core values of the Kelley community. They say that students at Kelley are ambitious and achieve success but never at the expense of their classmates.

Kelley is looking for students that understand their gaps and how Kelley can fill them. Their aim is not to succeed simply through a Kelley MBA degree but through being active participants in the classroom and the community, grabbing opportunities and participating in co-learning.
